Join Renee Adair, with 30 years of experience in birth, child protection, crisis response and end of life support support, for an honest and reflective workshop exploring the realities of vicarious trauma in caring professions. Supporting others through birth, crisis, grief, and trauma is deeply meaningful work, but it comes at a cost.
Having experienced real burnout herself, in the morning we will will unpack the cumulative impact of holding space for others, recognise the signs of burnout and secondary trauma, and develop sustainable self-care practices that go beyond surface-level strategies. And in the afterenoon, we will dedicate time and care to each other through stories, deep listening and some hands on relaxation techniques and practices that can support your work ongoingly.
This workshop is designed for doulas, midwives, social workers, support workers, and anyone working closely with individuals and famlies with complex sernarios.
This is a day dedicated to you.
